Control Panel - How to display as icons?

J

jud

Running Windows XP Tablet edition.

I followed a tip and now when I hover over Control Panel on the Start
menu a list shows.

How can I return to the original display ?

I've searched a lot and can't find the solution.

More importantly than the appearance, I encounted the following:

Clicking on Network in the Control Panel LIST produced a different
winddow than it did when the
Control Panel was displayed as icons.

I was following instructions from XP help (on installing a network) and
I didn't get what they said I would. Somehow I got around the problem,
but it would be nice to get back to the original.

Thanks for your help,

Cordially ,
Jud

You obviously have set your control panel to display as a list. Right click
on a vacant part of the task bar and select Properties. The taskbar and
start menu properties window will open. Click the start menu tab and then
click the customise button. In the customise start menu window click the
advanced tab. Now look at the section marked 'Start menu items' The first
item is control panel. Yours should have a 'dot' next to the 'display as a
menu' option. Change it by clicking on the radio button next to the 'display
as a link' option. Click OK followed by OK again to exit.
