I apologize if this is a second posting .

I'm running Windows XP Tablet edition.

I followed a tip and now when I hover over Control Panel on the Start
menu a list shows.

How can I return to the original display ?

I've done alot of searching and can't find the answer.

More importantly than the appearance, I encounted the following
problem:

Clicking on Network in the Control Panel LIST produced a different
winddow than it did when the
Control Panel was displayed as icons.

I was following instructions from XP help (on installing a network) and
I didn't get what they said I would. Somehow I got around the problem,
but it would be nice to get back to the original.

Thanks for your help,
Jud

Try this.

Open Taskbar and Start Menu Properties...

If XP Start Menu....
Right click the Start button | Properties |Start Menu tab |
Customize button | Advanced tab | Control Panel |
Select Display as a menu | OK your way out

If Classic Start Menu...
Right click the Start button | Properties |Start Menu tab |
Customize button |UNSelect Expand Control Panel | OK your way out

Expand Control Panel
[[Specifies whether to display the contents of Control Panel in a menu
instead of a window.]]

Do you mean Network Connections?

This can also be reached by...
Start | Programs | Accessories | Communications | Network Connections
or
Start | Run | Type: ncpa.cpl | Click OK
