Hi all

longtime!

Okay have one for you, this is a videorecorder. with XP pro CORP
installed. It reboots every time. Usally i would use recovery console for
these kinds of problems, but we cant get in touch with the costumer, so we
dont know what the Admin pass is.

i was wondering if it could work with the disk connected to another machine
and the run for example; chdsk. on it, could that fix the disk?

For starters:

Start > Settings > Control Panel > "System" icon. In the "System Properties"
dialog click the "Advanced" tab > click the "Startup and Recovery" section's
"Settings" button. Uncheck "Automatically Restart". Click OK, click Apply,
click OK. Reboot.

Next look at the events log for system errors. Start > Run > type
"eventvwr.msc" (no quotes) > enter. This will help diagnose what is causing
the system to fail on startup.

It might, depending on the specifics of the error that is causing the
reboots. If, for example, the error is "unmountable boot volume"
then this would be the correct fix.

It is extremely unlikely that doing this will make things worse, and
it might just help.

Good luck
