continuous booting

Hi, My pc will not boot up completely. When I turn it on
it mimics a normal bootup up to the windows xp home
edition screen where it pauses for 6 seconds and then the
screen flashs and starts the boot process again. This
continues indefinitly!! I have tried using the safe
mode, debugging mode and boot logging, however, i never
achieve the complete boot process. Any ideas?
