Context Menu

Is it possible to edit the context menu (i.e., what
appears when you right click your mouse) for Int.
Explorer pages? Somewhere along the way, some website
dropped something into my computer that added some nasty
options to this menu.

Thanks.

Hi,
Try these freeware programs.

Spybot - Search & Destroy : http://security.kolla.de/
Ad-aware 6- Lavasoft: http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/

It's less likely to be a Browser Helper object, but for future reference:
BHOCaptor: http://www.webattack.com/get/bho.shtml

If not completely successful with those programs:
Close IE.
Run REGEDIT and make your way to this key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt]
Select that key then> Registry> Export. You'll have that key backed up if
you need to undo the registry edit.
Find your unwanted item as a sub-key of [Internet Explorer\MenuExt]
Note the name of an HTM file which may be in the right pane.
Delete the offending sub-key.
Close Registry Editor.
Find the HTM file(s) and delete them.

Visit http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/restricted.htm#Setting for some
recommended security settings.

You could go to REGEDIT first, but Spybot and Ad-aware will probably find
other things you'd like to be rid of.

Hope this helps,
Don
