context menu problems

I've had several context menu commands dissapear a couple of days ago.

Desktop > arrange desktop.. > hidedesktop icons
My Computer > tweak UI
Taskbar > Toolbars > (only shows 'desktop', 'quick launch' and 'add new
toolbar')

Im sure there are more but Im mainly concerned about the address bar .

Incidentally I get "critical error, cannot place icon on taskbar" when I
logon...this happened to me on another computer before and couldnt figure out
why ( I did not modify any startup programs that day)

I would like to at least get back address toolbar on my taskbar and I tried
kellys corner already, noting seemed to work for me.
thanks

thanks for replying Kelly

I know the context menus are related to XP seperate shell groups and 3rd
party applications are completely individual settings (located under file
extentions\associations in the registry)

Why are they malfunctioning though?

The "Tweak UI" menu appeared once I restarted the shell a few times
(incidentaly the explorer.exe hangs at least 2 times a day - most likely RAM
shortage).

FYI link on line 136 "show IP address on desktop and more >

Is a bad link.

the "show desktop items" fix worked, still haven't figured out the taskbar
issue yet. Thanks again for your help.
