Has anyone encountered and been able to fix a problem I have when trying to run Regcure or AVG Free Test Center applications ?
They both reach the directory C:Documents and Settings\Specific User\Local Settings\temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 and then hang or crash.
AVG stops at a file 0Xs5YRW9*.* whilst Regcure is not so specific.

I have no idea what 0Xs5YRW9 is all about but it is a hidden file and can not be changed / deleted within the command prompt window as it is being used by the operating system (Windows XP).

Any thoughts on how to rectify this would be very much appreciated.
The usual XP error report has been generated to Microsoft but god knows if and when they will send a fix.

Many Thanks

Gary

Never heard of Regcure ... anything that "claims" to cure registry problems are usually taking the P

I have no idea why you are having a "problem" with AVG on-line scanner but I would suggest you try any of the others that will probably do a better job than AVG ... AVG is not on my Xmas list. In fact, I would go as far as to suggest dumping AVG in favour of a more reliable AV program, such as Anti-Vir

Try this one ...

or

Any reason you need to use an on-line AV scanner, or is it 'cos you don't trust AVG, like me. ;)
