Contacts list adds (E-Mail) to name

When I put a name in the contacts list, for example John Smith and
email address of (e-mail address removed), and then type it in the To line, it
adds (E-mail) to the name, e.g. for John Smith, the email address is
John Smith (E-mail). What the person gets in there in box is To "John
Smith (E-mail)" <[email protected]>

How do I get rid of the (E-mail) part?
Why does it add the <[email protected]> in the To field, can I get rid of
that?

Only Outlook seems to do that, Outlook Express doesn't nor do other
more friendly email only packages.

You failed to post your Outlook version. No one can answer without that.
While you're at it, you might as well include what harm the (E-mail) label
is creating.
