Two different orders of contacts

I'm running Outlook as part of Office 2003. When I imported my contacts
over from outlook express to Outlook I had things filed as last name, first
name. All was fine until I went in and modified some of the contacts and
now things are a bit different and I would like to get things back the way
they were before.

Here is the issue:

If I select Contacts in the list (i.e. mail, contacts, calender, etc) the
contacts list displays all the contacts in Last Name, First Name order.
This is what I want.

If I create a new contact I can type in the name (i.e. John Smith) and the
"Full Name" field shows John Smith and the "File As" name shows Smith, John.
I can enter in the email address (i.e. (e-mail address removed)) and the "Display
As" name shows John Smith ([email protected]). This is all good and after
saving the new contact it now shows as Smith, John in the contacts list
which is also good.

If I jump back fron Contacts to Mail and I create a new email message and I
press the "To" button to display the contacts list, instead of showing
Smith, John, in the "Name" column it showing John Smith in the column. This
is what I want to change. I want it to display the names in this contacts
list in last name, first name order. Right now my old contacts imported
from outlook express are still showing up in last name, first name order but
any contact that is new or I have modified since the import took place is
showing up in first name, last name order.

I realize this is probably a simple fix but I can't seem to locate the
correct "help" article". Can anyone tell me how to get the order into Last
Name, First Name when creating a new email?

Thanks,
