Contact in Contacts not available when sending new message

I have a problem where a contact is in the contact folder but when I click
new message and change to contacts it is not listed. If I then try to add
that email address to the contact folder it tells me I have a duplicate
listing. This is only happening to certain contacts not all. I am running
outlook 2000 on a Windows XP professional laptop with SP2 installed.

Make sure you have set the Outlook Address Book to display the correct
Contacts Folder.
If you don't know how to check, you must provide your mail support mode of
Outlook 2000 so we can tell you.
