Consecutive numbering in Handout View

My company publishes training materials using PP usually in sections. I would like, therefore, for the page numbering to be consecutive instead of starting as page one in each section (new file) that I print in handout view. I know you can change the page numbering on each slide under page set up but can you tell the handout master to start at a new page number also?

There is no way to do this via code.

The best workaround I can suggest would be to manually insert a chapter
number prior to the page number in the page number placeholder of the
handout master.

Would "Section 3 -Page 15" be an acceptable page numbering system for the
company?
