Jack

I have a laptop running XP Pro and a desktop running
Win2K Server that I have had connected using static ip
addresses in the past. They were disconnected for about
six months during which time I created a wireless network
with the laptop to connect to broadband. Now my location
has changed, the wireless broadband is not available. I
can ping my 2K server sometimes but data on the server is
unavailable. I get this error message: \\server\my
pictures is not accessible. You might not have
permission......etc, the network path was not found. I
am sure this has been encountered on this list but I
can't find it. TCP/IP has been reconfigured and all the
rest I can find. I have searched all the KB files I can
find that address the connectivity issue, but so far no
luck. Any suggestions would be greeted with pleasure.
Thanks. Jack

make sure you can ping the server ip first. and then ping the server name.
If you can't ping, check the TCP/IP configuration.
