Connection problems

When i'm connected to the internet i suddenly get cut off
and the main downstairs phone stars ringing i check the
network connections and there is a new network connection
that is trying to connect to the internet, it cuts me off.
I think the reason that it rings our phone is because you
have to dial one to get an outside line. After it can't
connect it says Connection error do you want to re-
connect. I suspect a virus as it puts add shortcuts on my
desktop and the my programmes list. i have tried deleting
the source only to have it reapear almost instantly, if i
delete the adds they come back after i've had the do you
want to re-connect message.

This is really irritating can you please help or advise
accordingly?

P.S
I can't get updates from my pc as i am only on dialup and
i keep getting cutt off and a virus scan with the current
one doesn't pick it up!

It sounds like a SpyWare. I think you should try scaning your computer with
