I brought my laptop into class today, got "excellent connection", yet was not
able to use internet whatsoever. I have a toshiba laptop and it said under
the connectivity doctor that my wireless LAN was connected, but LAN wasn't.
in the windows vista network and sharing center, the photo icons said
computer --(connected to)---campus network-------(NOT connected
to)----internet. what should i do? it's like i am connected, yet not able to
use the internet? any help will be appreciated.

contact the network support folks on your campus?

Do they run an open network? Do you need to log in with some credentials?
