Connecting Access 2007 ADP to large SQL database

Connecting a 2007 ADP to a large SQL database (8000 tables, 6000 stored
procedures, 2000 views) is very slow. I have installed Service Pack 1 for
Office 2007, and it is still slow.

I run the SQL profiler trace, and activity seems normal.

It appears that the Access EXE takes a very long time to populate and
refresh the new Navigation bar in 2007.

I will appreciate it if one of the Access developers at MS can take 5
minutes to simply create a new 2007 ADP linked to a large test SQL database
and watch the result.

Have you tried hiding the navigation pane? (Office button-->Access
options-->Current Database-->Display Navigation Pane)
