I have 2 computers connected to a router in order to access the internet. The 1st one, which has the router software on it, is working fine. When I added the 2nd computer to the router, I can get a valid IP addy and ping the router, but am unable to access the internet. I get a "Page Not Available" or "Cannot find DNS server" error
Both computers are running XP Pro, both have the McAfee Internet Security Suite 6 on them, I even deleted the Winsock and Winsock2 folders off the second one and reinstalled them to correct the winsock error
Any suggestions on what to do next before reinstalling XP again?

I've never seen a router that needed software on a client PC. Is the client
that can't connect getting the correct DNS and default gateway addresses?

Both clients are getting the IP addy from the router. The software for the router is basically used for firewall. I have cable modem for internet connection, it is hooked directly into the router, then the main pc is in LAN 1 and the secondary pc is in LAN 2. I have already talked to both the ISP & router tech support people, they say that it should work, but it doesn't. The router tech support says that it is a Microsoft issue. Initially, I had a winsock error after connecting the router, but was able to correct that problem, so at least now I know that the second pc is communicating with the router, I just can't get it to connect to the internet.
