Connecting 2 networks via VPN

VPN between 2 XP networks should be so easy!!!!

I can connect to the VPN server (that also serves as
router/firewall)and see the files on that pc, but whatever
I do, I can not connect to any of the pc´s behind the VPN
server/firewall not with IP adresses nor with their names!
And of course the port 1723 has been opened (XP integrated
FW)! I suspect that the routing might not be right! What I
just cant figure out is why can I only access files on the
VPN server/router/firewall and not the network behind
it!!!!

Setting up the VPN server and client I just used the
wizards (defaults).

The facts:
OS on the Router/VPN server and the client is XP Pro.
Computers in the remote network are NT4 workstation and
w98.
Both networks use adsl connections, the host via a NIC
(which means that the router/vpn server has 2 NIC´s) and
the client via adsl modem!
The IP scope has been sorted! There are no ip conflicts!
Both networks has there own range! I use 90.0.0.xx for the
remote network and 90.0.0.y for the client nework.
