Connected to Internet but no Explorer

Just got new Laptop. It is definitely connected to Internet via wireless
broadband connection. Downloads and updates received. Can see other
computers in home network. BUT Internet Explorer will not load up. It says
it is a HTTP, FTP, Firewall problem and mentions Ports. Have tried home
network wizard and have checked connection - definitely connected to
Internet. Any ideas anyone?

Plug into router with a cable and see it that fixes the problem.

Using Vista I presume?

I have blogged about this issue just this week at

Also, see if you can download Firefox on another PC, then copy to and
install on your laptop. You are likely to like Firefox so much you won't
miss IE. www.mozilla.com

Make sure your firewall is not blocking port 80.
