Connect vcr to usb

What devices are available to connect your vcr to a usb port on your pc.
Everyone says that you need this device. All I seem to find are Pinnacle
products that have a lot of software included. Is there a cable or converter
to do this?

You need the convertor box which the vcr plugs in to and the box plugs in to
the pc, preferably by firewire but usb2 will do. Pinnacle do cheaper ones,
but for quality go for canopus or miglia. If you have a digital camcorder
with analogue inputs you could use it to "pass through" the signal and not
have to buy anything.
