connect to domain via VPN

If XP Home can't connect to a domain how do I connect to my office, which has a domain, from home using VPN over the internet? We are using a Sonicwall firewall VPN client and Sonicwall says their VPN client will create the tunnel, but I don't know what will happen when the connect to the domain occurs. Will I be able to access the files on the server?

You can't join the domain, but you can access resources on it. Once you have
the connection enabled (and some means of name resolution, such as WINS or
LMHOSTS), try this in a command prompt

net use x: \\server\share /user:domain\username

and enter the password. To connect to an Exchange mailbox, as long as you
can resolve the name of the server when pinging it, you can use Outlook to
access your mailbox if you set up the Exchange service to prompt you for
credentials (Logon Network Security=None in the advanced tab)
