"Connect to Device Failed" error message

I installed VS2005 and I am trying to create a simple PDA application.
But when I "Start Debugging", and choose the Pocket PC 2003 SE Emulator
from the list, the emulator loads, but then I get the error message
"Connect to Device Failed".

If I try to connect to the device via "Tools/Connect to device" I get
the error message "Connection failed. Unspecified error".

I've installed the Virtual Machine Network Driver (which was my original
problem), so that is taken care of.

Any suggestions?
