Conflicting IP

Hi! Here's my newest problem: as of today, my computer keeps popping up a
dialog box saying "There is a conflicting IP problem with another system on
your network". I have 2 pc's in my home, both desktops, connected through
wireless. So, as it would be expected, each time the dialog box appears,
either the Internet on my computer or on the other computer stops working. I
tried restarting the router or the modem and this seems to work, but I'm
trying to find a way to fix this. PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks a lot to everybody
who's trying to help!

Visit the support web site of the manufacturer of
your wireless router and search for a support article
describing how to troubleshoot your issue.

Try releasing and renewing the IPs of both PCs. Click Start >> Run >> type in
"cmd" and click OK. When the Command Prompt (black screen) comes up, type
"ipconfig/release" and hit Enter. Do the same with the other PC. Wait about 1
minute and then type "inconfig/renew" and hit Enter. Renew the IP for the PC
that routes the signal to the other PC first. Then, do the same with the
other computer. This usually solves many network issues. However, as Carey
Frisch had said, there could be a problem with your wireless router.

As Patty had mentioned, make sure that both computers are using separate IPs.
If the problem continues, the best thing to do would be to contact your ISP.

If the problem persists, try setting fixed IPs on the computers, rather than
getting them from the DHCP server in the wireless router.
