Confirm Stream Loss Error When Backing Up To DVD-RW

Hi just purchased a Dell 8300 that is running Windows XP. I wanted to back up
my data that is in my "My Documents" folder onto a DVD-RW and I get the
following message:

"Confirm Stream Loss Error. File has extra info attached to it that might be
lost
if you continue to copy. The contents of the file will not be affected.
Information that might be lost includes: encrytable:$DATA"

1. What does this mean? (I am not very computer saavy, so any non-technical
explanation greatly appreciated)

2. How do I fix this problem? (I tried something that I read on another
thread, which was to enable the "Do Not Cache Thumnails" in Windows Explorer.

3. I click continue when this happens and am wondering am I getting the full
backup of my data in "My documents" folder onto DVD-RW or am I losing some
files?

Any help and advice greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Depending on what software you happen to be using for
burning your files it really is simple, make sure that
when you boot up that software you select make a data
disk, then open the personal folder where your files are,
generally all you need to do is select the files and drag
and drop them into the window of the burning software,
then load in your blank media disc and click your start
or burn button.

I appreciate your response very much. I am still confused. I don't use any
software for burning my files. I just popped a DVD-RW into the drive, right
clicked on My documents, scrolled down to Send to Drive E DLA Drive (which is
where the DVD RW is) and than the transfer started. I also tried dragging and
dropping the folder directly into the drive and the same thing happened.

Any suggestions or advice again would be much appreciated.

Some files can not be backed up because they are either open (being
used by the system) or have special attributes assigned to them.
Check to see if you have used encryption on any of your files. If you
have, they will have to be decrypted first.

Be sure you check to verify that all the files you have designated
from your My Documents folder have been backed up by doing a compare.
Just make sure you can read them back from the DVD RW. One nice thing
about using re-recordable DVDs is that you can always erase them and
start over.
