Confirm Open After Download ?

For some reason, after upgrading to IE7 the Confirm Open After Download
checkbox for certain file extensions no longer prompts the user to Open or
Save files of that type from the browser window. Instead, a window will
briefly flash on the screen and then disapper. What is the setting or
configuration that will prompt the user to Open or Save these files types
from an IE7 browser window (if the Confirm Open After Download is already
checked for these file types/extensions). TIA ...

Open windows Explorer click Tools >> Folder Options >> File Type and scroll
to whichever file type and Highlight it then click on Advanced Button.
The check the Box for [ ] 'confirm open after download'.

Thanks for the reply, but as mentioned above that option is already checked.
For some reason though, after upgrading to IE7 these file types will not
display or prompt to open/download (a window briefly flashes within the IE7
broswer and then disappears).

Did you checked under Advanced Tab and scroll down under Browsing Option,
that this check box is checked:
[ ] Prompt when download is complete.

Rather than this and the file association I mentioned before I don't have
extra info unless you have a GPO implemented try it's settings/permissions.
Try the IE7 Newsgroup as this IE6 NG.

Thanks again for the reply. I did not see the IE7 newsgroup, but the problem
was fixed by setting the IE7/Tools/Internet Options/Security/Custom
Level/Downloads-Automatic Prompting for File Downloads to Enabled. I am
guessing that this is a new setting for IE7 and the default for this setting
is Disabled.

Thanks again,
