So many people ask this question! I am surprised Microsoft haven't made
the solution into a standard option for users.
Find and copy the Windows Explorer short cut from
Start/programs/accessories (might be "all programs"). Paste the shortcut
on your desktop, then right-click it and choose properties. In the
Target field, edit the short cut to read

Startup Folder
Right click the Windows Explorer shortcut in the start
menu and click Properties. In the Target box, append
the "/root" command-line switch to the
"%SystemRoot%\Explorer.exe" command, using the
