hi, my laptop automatically downloaded update and restarted, now, it says
"configuring updates stage 3 of 3, 0% complete" after approx 1 minute, it
changes to shutting down, then promptly shuts down and restarts. again
returning to this screen. I have restarted in safe mode, safe with
networking, command, startup repair. but none will boot the machine up. it's
a fairly new laptop but has always been kept up to date with available
updates. Any help would be great as i have alot of work on there that of
course , ISNT backed up!!!!!!!!
thanks

hi;

I had the same problem but F8+REPAIR COMPUTER didn't help. At least, I had
no other choice than formatting my notebook...Vista is very problematic and
I'm very regretful for buying Vista..After every update I'm afraid to getting
in a loop of reboots. Those problems caused me to format it for 4 times and
unfortunately it's a 1.5 month old notebook (ASUS F3ST7100 with 2GB RAM) I'm
despited. And the system recovery doesn't work, when I try to let it work it
doesn't stop giving errors. I wish that the SP1 will be releast in a very
soon time and i hope it will give us a good solution. Or I'll keep thinking
that even Windows 98 SE is much better than Vista.

Best Regards,
M.HAS
