Configuring Outlook Cache Accounts

Hi,

We have configured all our users to store their OST files under D:
\StaffNr folder. This works fine. When these users logging into new
machines where they don't have a folder structure as above, are
prompted to select a new OST location as their original OST path is
not available. Instead of this, we want Outlook to be opened in Online
mode. This will help us minimizing the risk of Outlook downloading the
entire mailbox on all the workstations while they logging on different
PCs.

Appreiciate If anyone is having a solution for this.

Thanks & Rgds

when they log in using roaming profiles, it's always going to use the
settings in the profile. They'd need to make a new one with online settings.

Create two profiles, one for their assigned machine and one for other
machines. The assigned machines uses cached, the other is online.
Alternately, have them use OWA when on other computers.

Hi Diane,

Creating two profiles and asking users to choose from is not a good
option. They can always make mistakes which will force outlook to
download OST files. Is there any other method like blocking users from
changing profile settings thru group policy etc??. May be by doing
this users will not be prompted to choose the OST location while
logging into a different option. Otherwise Outlook cache mode is not
suitable for roaming profile users.

Thanks & Rgds
