So I'm helping some people that have also fallen under the trap of
incorporating files in PowerPoint presentations that do not play in
mplay32.exe, also known as Microsoft Media Player 5.1.
My question is, how do I go about finding the correct codecs for this old
version of media player? I can determine which codecs I need from things
like MediaInfo or GSpot, but would installing those codecs also affect this
version of media player that is buried within the depths of the Windows
operating system?
Of course I would check to see whether or not the video card drivers are up
to date first, along with checking to see if the latest version of DirectX is
installed.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
