configure for access to documents and settings by AV

Can someone help me with this? I am not an admin, but I think this is a
security issue. Relatively new to XP Home and trying to use free AVG
anti-virus software. Set up routine auto scans but found in log they are
not scanning documents and settings folders. Am I at risk of hidden
infection? If so, how may I work around?

and also these files:
E:\HIBERFIL.SYS Cannot open; not checked!
E:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM.LOG Cannot open; not checked!

Any help appreciated.

The files it is skipping it should be skipping.
One is used when your system hibernated, the other
is actively journalling your registry.
Documents and Settings would be good to scan, but
keep in mind that some files are in use by the logged
in user.
