Configuration problem

I got the "blue screen" with white writing re: Windows
shutting down due to a serious problem. Afterwards,
whenever I reboot, my machine will recognize the mouse,
but when I double click on an application to start, I get
the "properties" display.

In addition, the system will not recognize keyboard
strokes when this happens.

Any suggestions?

This isn't enough information to get good answers, but it certainly
sounds like you are having hardware failures. Next time, post the
"white writing" which is the error message that is necessary to help
troubleshoot the problem. If you can't diagnosis hardware yourself,
take the machine to a good local computer repair shop (not a Best Buy
or CompUSA type of store).
