Hi everybody,
I am using Windows XP Home. A peculiar issue arose few minutes ago, so I
beg for a quick reply. I had to switch a monitor, so I shutdown XP as
usual from the start menu. After rebooting with the new screen, I received
an error message saying:
File corrupt:
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
I had never heard of such a file. I guess it shouldn't be an important one
either. Yet somehow it got broken. I tried to use the repair function of
the Windows CD but that didn't help, since it only puts you on a command
prompt.
How can I correct this problem? There has been many "forced" shutdowns
such as power failures, but nothing had happened. I looked in the cd but
couldn't find that file. It doesn't even has an extension! What shall I do?
