NOT too proud to beg.....i need help, its beyond 911. My friend let me use her
computer...one day, it wouldnt boot up (some file was missing) so i started
the repair or recovery thing with windows xp home cd....while in recovery...i
received this message- Lsass.exe unable to locate component, and behind that
missing "asms" i think. While trying to clear that screen, i pushed esc, or
f4 or some combination of button to hear beeps, then enabled vga (i think, by
accident) and then the screen went black. Now when i push the power button,
nothing comes on screen but i see three flashing lights on the
computer......help, help me, help me please, i'm on both knees....

Your actions seem impulsive... calm down and think of every step before you
do it.

Can you boot with the xp disk and go into the recovery console, and do a
chkdisk?

Do you not see the bios when you first boot up the computer...

you say nothing comes on the screen when you push the power button do you
mean not even the bios???

(the white letters on the black background)

if this is the case, the problem is elsewhere and not in windows... probably
some sort of hardware problem...

Do you have ANY USB devices connected like an mp3 player that SHE did not
have????

Hmmm?? Remove all usb devices and try to boot again..

post back and tell us what happens
