computer wont start

hi just bought new computer foy xmas and plugged it in and switched it on
after approx 30 sec computer stops and the following box appears

The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error.

Windows Installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to
restart the computer, and the restart the installation.

every time it is turned on this is as far as it gets to i have the vista
disk and have tried it in cd drive and pressed enter while loading but still
stops with same message please help

Return the computer immediately for replacement. A new computer should
not act this way out of the box.
