Computer won't shut down

My XP home computer won't shut down, hibernate or stand by it just keeps
restarting. I have to turn off the power using the main switch. I have tried
Critical Update for Windows XP (KB885626) and turned off automatic restart
but didn't help. Everything woks fine just won't shutdown
