Computer won't boot!

I am running W95B with IE5.5. During download of a video file, my computer
froze-up.
After turning it off and then reboot, computer performed a file/directory
repair and then prepares to shuts down with famous "It is now safe to turn
of you computer". When I turned it on, it performed a quick virus scan
(AVG), started to boot in a safe mode, and after about a minute, it shut
itself down, even if I changed from a safe mode to normal start up mode.
Many thanks for any good advice

Try searching the Internet on advice on how to replace the Registry with a
backup in Win95.
Or, at the C;\ prompt (DOS) try running scandisk again by typing scandisk at
the C:\ prompt and pressing Enter.
Or, wait for further advice.
Or, reinstall Win95 on top of itself (in the same Directory it is in now).

It's corrupt. That would be because you're using Win95, and it crashed.

This is kind of an old question.......
