computer won't boot...

Help someone please!
My computer was accidentally unplugged while on. I plugged it back in and
went to restart it and now all it will do is go to the computer start up
screen. It acts as if it is going to boot up by showing the windows xp
screen but then goes black and shortly after begins the process again. It's
a vicious circle.

Can anybody help me. Not sure what to do.
