Computer won't accept incoming connections

Each time someone try to upload something to me, my computer won't connect to
it. I tried it with aol messenger and mirc. It just says in each: connection
failed. How do I enable incoming connections? I have a cable modem with win
xp pro. No routers.

If the Windows or some other firewall is enabled, you will have to open the
appropriate ports. See:

Check to see if your firewall is enabled. If it is try disabling it or allow
exceptions.
