When i start my computer it goes through the general processes as usual
memory testing, some other infomation about my pc, then it appears with the
error message, " Sorry windows is unable to start because of a problem this
may be hardware or software please choose below how you wish to start your
pc" so i thought ok this is fine i'll start in the last known good
configuration but the problem is that nothing works on my pc i cannot use the
keyboard to select what i want on the error screen and as the seconds count
down windows restarts again and does the same thing on a continuous loop. i
have tried taking out the keyboard and plugging it back in again, i have
bought a recovery disk which does nothing and i have tried using the windows
xp disk but that does nothing either, any ideas would be grateful

I had this problem with a client's computer. After a lot of heartache and
swearing, I discovered that at that point, a PS2 keyboard would not work,
but a USB keyboard would!

Can you use the keyboard to get into the BIOS setup prior to Windows
startup message appearing? If not then this may be a hardware issue
with the keyboard. Make sure that it is properly plugged in (unplug
it and plug it back in) and/or try using a different keyboard.

Good luck
