Computer start button does not work

My computer start button does not light up or turn the computer on. The power
supply cord is working properly and there are lights on the back of the
computer. Any ideas on if this is a part I can replace or must take to a pro
to have looked at.

What is the make and model of the computer? Also is it a desktop or
laptop?

Since your computer appears to be dead, there is little point in asking a
Windows newsgroup what to do. The experts in a hardware newsgroup would be
able to suggest a few tests.

Unfortunately that could be the switch itself or the power supply. If you
are electronics savvy you can check the switch with
a volt/ohmmeter.

Sorry, we have no knowledge of the configuration of your PC, or your
technical capabilities. Contacting a repair shop is the only prudent
thing we can recommend in your situation.
