Every time I insert my Half-Life 2: Episode One disk in the computer (this is
a game not a movie) the computer spits it back out after about 5 seconds, how
can I fix this problem?

As soon as you close the CD tray, tape the drive closed.

Just kidding.

Look in Event Viewer log and see if you have any errors reporting if there
is any problems with the Drive.

Start | Run ... eventvwr.msc

Did you check if the disk is clean (non-scratched)?
Is the game asking for the disk and are you putting the current disk in
(Disk 1 verusus Disk 2)?
