computer slow response

My pc be able to start up normal speed but experience very slow
response when running any program or internet.anyone can help?

Disk size? Memory size? Run disk cleanup lately? Do a defrag lately? Give
more data.

PC config P4 2.4Gh2 Ram 504M disk 80GB,O/S win xp sp2.
The pc had been no problem past years.it developed slow recently.
Please advise
 
Run disk cleanup followed by defrag.
