hello.

the problem is that when i'm using my computer, it just suddenly shuths down
itself at no particular time, i have ued it and sometimes it gives me no
error, and sometimes it shuts down before i can access my account. I have
checked for spy-were and viruses with no luck. THe computer gives me the
message that it has recovered from a serious error and i report it to
microsoft, but it gives no help; it tells me is to check the drivers,
already tried though.

I'll aprecieate any help

Have you looked in the Event Viewer for any clues.

To do this go to Start>Run and type

eventvwr

Good Luck

luckily my omputer just crashed 5 minutes ago, so the error was the first
one in the list of the Event Viewer. here is what is says...

"Access denied attempting to launch a DCOM Server using
DefaultLaunchPermssion. The server is:
{00020906-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
The user is Unavailable/Unavailable, SID=Unavailable."

Could you explain what does that mean, or if you need more information tell
me and i'll try to get it.

thank you

i checked the page but it does not seem to find the report i need. One more
thing, when my computer crashes, it gives me a blue screen, not a normal
error windows, does it log in the event viwer?. cause if not, then no log
is created of this error there.

any ideas?

That screen is called the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). You should copy all
code done and repost, there are people in this newsgroup that can help you
with those types of errors. I am unsure if they are logged in the Event
Viewer.

Good Luck

not sure if this wil help, if need more info, just ask for it please!

(at least to me it seems that i have a problem with a display driver)

Yes it looks like a display driver problem, have you tried to update the
current drivers for your video card?

well, i have all the updates from windows update, including SP2,( i instaled
it because i tough it might solve the problem but it did not).

Or could you tell me how to do so?

thx

Do you know the name of your video card? If not, go to start>run and type

devmgmt.msc

Find Display adapters and open by clicking onthe '+', this should give your
name and model. Then go to the manufacturer's web site and find the drivers.

Good Luck

ok, i checked and when i click on update drivers it asks me for a disc, is
it the one that came with my computer or what, because it is all i have now...

i did download all the updates from the manufacter. What else could be wrong?

if it helps, i have not instaled any new hardware lately...
And i added more RAM, still got the problem..
One more thing, it seems to happen more often while im running any full
screen program, but it is not limited just to that, it happens a anytime.

Have you tried taking out the RAM you installed and see what happens when
you run a full screen program?

Have you tried taking out the RAM that you installed to see if this is the
problem when running full screen programs.

I have the problem with or without the new RAM, but someone told me that
puting more RAM might help. IT did not. ...

So, anymore ideas?

this post is getting long...

Well, i already formated the computer, deleted all the old programs, and is
was as bad as when i bought it... So, anyone has any help?
