Computer shuts down for no reason

I have not installed any new hardware or software in a while. Suddenly I
started to have this problem. My computer shuts down for no apparently
reason. When I try to turn it on again, sometimes I have a message saying
that the system shuts down to protect my files. Afterwards, I am still able
to turn it on and use it normally, but after 10-20 minutes de same problem
happens again. I am afraid it is a virus. Please help me!!

It may well be a virus or spyware, but it could also be that one of the
cooling fans in your computer is defective. When the heat inside your
computer rises, your computer may shut itself down to prevent damage to the
hardware (and your data.)

Are you sure that all the fans in your computer are working properly? The
same problem can happen even if all the fans are working, if the amount of
dust and debris inside have built up to where airflow inside the case is
impeded.
