Computer running slow

My computer is running slower and slower. It is only 1 1/2 years old and i
had to reboot it about two months ago. I have delted the temp internet files
but whenever I turn the computer on the next day the temp files are still
there. I have tried disk cleanup and defrag. I have also checked for viruses.
Any ideas?

What version of XP are you running? What are the Non-Microsoft Start-up
programs being loaded at Boot?

I have the 2002 version. I am not sure about the start up programs. The only
non-microsoft things on the start-up menu is solitaire. I don't know what's
running in the background. Do you mean like my antivirus protection (Freedom
from Adelphia Cable), Quicktime and Musicmatch Jukebox?

Go to: http://www.tune-up.com/ and download the Trial 30 day version of
TuneUp Utilities 2006. Install it. Open TuneUp Utilities 2006. Each screen
has built-in Help, when you click on Help at the top. You may have too many
Startup Programs or Too Many programs that are protecting you, but also
slowing you down.

This program can help speed up the computer. You only need to read help
to understand the program.
