computer restarts by itself............

this may be a frequently asked question but i am really unsure what to do
about this problem...

my computer keeps restarting, and it really annoys me

i got the blue screen saying..

*STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xBF8048BA, 0xF727382C, 0x00000000)

* win32k.sys - Address BF8048BA base at BF800000, DateStamp 41107f7a


could you please guide me to what i should do about this, because it is
quite annoying.

Have you added RAM memory recently?

If you have more than one stock you might try removing one memory stick
and seeing if the error still occurs and then swapping it for the other
and repeating the process.

0x0000008E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
A kernel mode program generated an exception which the error handler
didn’t catch. These are nearly always hardware compatibility issues
(which sometimes means a driver issue or a need for a BIOS upgrade).

In your instance the Windows component win32k.sys is specifically
identified as the source of the error.

There have been a number of similar reports recently. Both KB Articles
you mention relate to problems pre SP2. Surely they would not be
expected to arise, except where the user has not installed SP2. Given
that there are no reported solutions is this one whereanalysing the Dump
might help?
