computer reboots with dsl connection

after installing dsl with 2 wire home portal my computer boots back up after
every shut down. when I disconnect the home portal it shuts off fine. sbc
yahoo never heard of this and has no solution. was told to reinstall win xp,
check my bios? a little drastic just to have dsl!!! ANY help would certainly
be appreciated. Thanks

Check your bios as was suggested. There are a few entries in there that can
cause this. For some, it is desired!

It's probably all the junk programs that SBC Yahoo is putting into the DSL
CD. Once the DSL modem is installed, you can use the generic Windows dialer
to connect. Maybe if you uninstall all the unneeded garbage the CD installed
and manually install the dsl dialer from My Network Places, you can solve the
problem.
