restarts after shutdown

Ever since I got dsl my computer restarts after every shut down, if I
disconnect the ethernet cable it shuts down fine. I tried the startup/
shutdown site, got rid of roxio cd, auto restart turned off. I have read
every post on shut down problems. sbc yahoo techs never heard of it, tried
uninstalling software, a new modem. What am I missing? Any other ideas out
there would be appreciated very much.

If you look into your BIOS settings I bet you have Wake On Lan turned
on....so the computer senses the signal from the DSL line and turns itself
back on.
