Computer re-boots

Any ideas.... First time I switch on computer after about
1 min computer re boots, but then is fine for the rest of
the day!
Any help appreciated

check to see if you have blaster virus....
it's in the run key of the registry.
 
Recently had that problem and it was a bad capacitor on the mobo. Lots of
bad ones on older boards. You might be able to spot it by examining your
mobo.

ALmost certainly, that's not his problem. Rebooting once, then
running all day without a problem is not a symptom of Blaster.

No, his problem sounds like hardware. Perhaps something like a
hairline crack on a circuit that doesn't make reliable contact
until the board has heated up.

Lots on more recent ones too - there was a very big bad batch circulated
and the most reputable makers fell foul. A colleague had them with an
IBM machine, that was old enough to have gone out of warranty, but on
contacting IBM they checked the particular model number and sent out a
free replacement (And would have sent a technician to fit it)
