How do i recover a document that i was typing, when my computer power went
out"?

If you have AutoRecover enabled, and you had been working long enough for an
AutoRecovery backup to have been saved, you will (probably) be presented
with the document the next time you start Word. If not, then unless you had
saved it, it's gone.

If your location is prone to power outages, get yourself an uninterruptible
power supply (UPS) which will shut down your PC to hibernate mode cleanly
when the power fails, so you don't lose work (and don't risk damage to your
PC).
