ALL COURSEWORK IS GONE!

I entered my pen drive (USB) into the port to finish coursework and the required folder was in some weird language with squares and rectangles and all and I couldn't open any of my Word or PDF files. I took the usb out then in again and pressed scan and fix and when I went to go back onto the file, the folder had disappeared! all that's left is a random 4kb file in the weird language with the name of the folder with all of my coursework in it! does anyone know how to recover my work?!!!!

I was last modifying the documents about 4 hours previous on a school computer and everything was fine. My coursework is due in literally two days so if anyone knows how I could recover all my word documents PLEASE HELP ASAP!

Most local pc repair shops will do it for you at a price ££ or $$.
Not sure of free software as last time i used software it was via norton and cost ££.
Good Luck & this might teach you to always have x2 backups, x1 on Disc!

Sounds like it may have got corrupted some way. Or some kind of unicode char issue, lesson learned - back up to Google Drive/One Drive etc.
